Scope of this policy
This policy covers the PDF Studio Android application, including document creation, PDF import, image-to-PDF, in-app camera capture for photo-to-PDF workflows, page organization, watermarking, splitting, compression, protection, password removal, page numbering, PDF-to-image export, OCR, and related support communication.
Current app behavior
Data the app may handle locally on your device
- PDF files that you import, create, edit, share, or export.
- Images you choose from your gallery or capture with the in-app camera for image-to-PDF workflows.
- Images selected for custom stamps and locally saved annotation drafts, including annotation positions, colors, text, and other editing settings.
- OCR source files and extracted text created during on-device text recognition.
- PDF passwords or protection values that you manually enter to lock or unlock your own PDF files.
- Document names, timestamps, selected language, recent file state, ad pacing state, and other app settings stored locally to support app functionality.
- Local entitlement state used to remember whether Pro access is currently active on this device.
Camera permission
- The app requests the Android camera permission only when you actively choose the in-app camera to take a new photo.
- The permission is used to let you capture images for photo-to-PDF and related document scanning flows.
- If you do not grant camera permission, you can still use other supported features such as importing existing images or PDF files.
- Photos captured through the current app workflow are intended to remain on device unless you later export or share them yourself.
How the current version uses data
- To import, create, preview, modify, and save PDF and image files within the app's workspace.
- To open the in-app camera, capture new document photos, and prepare those photos for user-controlled PDF creation.
- To run OCR locally and allow users to save extracted text back into a PDF.
- To organize, compress, split, watermark, protect, unprotect, and convert PDF files based on user actions.
- To remember language preference and app-local recent file information.
- To request ad content, limit ad frequency, and suppress ads for users with active Pro access.
- To measure app sessions, feature interactions, advertising performance, and general technical reliability through Google Analytics for Firebase.
- To check Google Play purchase and trial status, activate or restore Pro access, and support billing-related app behavior.
Current transfer and sharing status
Based on the current app build reviewed for release preparation, PDF Studio is intended to work without transmitting your document files, OCR text, or entered PDF passwords to the developer's own servers.
Custom-stamp images and annotation drafts are intended to be processed and stored locally on your device. They are not transmitted to the developer's servers unless you deliberately export or share the resulting file through another app or service.
The app may still communicate with Google Play, Google Mobile Ads, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Remote Config, and related Google services to load and measure ads, retrieve non-sensitive app configuration, measure app usage, check subscription status, restore Pro entitlements, support in-app updates, and operate platform features. Those services may receive technical device, app, purchase, network, advertising, and event metadata required for those functions.
When you deliberately use Android sharing or open a file in another app, that transfer is initiated by you. The receiving app or service then applies its own privacy practices.
Ads and Pro features in the current version
PDF Studio currently includes ads in the free version and monthly and yearly paid Pro plans through Google Play. A separate 7-day free-trial offer linked to the yearly plan may be available to eligible Google Play accounts. The details below describe the monetization model for the active release line of the app.
Advertising in the current version
- The free version may show banner ads in supported screens.
- The free version may show interstitial ads in supported app flows.
- Ads are not intended to be shown while Pro access is active.
- Google or AdMob services may process technical identifiers, app instance information, IP-based network information, consent state, diagnostics, and ad event metadata as required to deliver, measure, limit, or secure ads.
- If legally required in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or other regulated regions, consent choices may be requested through the app or a Google-provided consent flow before personalized or non-essential ad processing begins.
Optional rewarded ads and local access counters
In versions offering rewarded access, you may voluntarily choose to watch an AdMob rewarded ad to earn one use of the selected eligible Pro tool. The offer explains the reward before the ad starts. Choosing this option does not purchase or start a Pro subscription or the separate Google Play 7-day trial. Existing basic Free features remain available without accepting a rewarded offer.
The current allowance is two introductory uses without a rewarded ad in total, followed by up to three rewarded unlocks per local calendar day, shared across all eligible tools. The app stores the introductory uses consumed, daily usage date and counters, earned unused access, and temporary operation state locally on your device. These records allow it to preserve earned access after cancellation or an error during the same day, apply limits, and avoid charging a use for an unsuccessful operation. Unused rewarded access expires at the next local calendar day; the two introductory uses do not renew daily. See the access terms for details.
These access records are not synchronized to a developer-hosted account or device-recognition database. These records are used locally to manage free access and temporary unlocks. Temporary unlocks do not synchronize between devices. This local storage description does not change the Google advertising and analytics processing described below.
Rewarded ads use the same Google advertising services and applicable consent choices as the other ad formats. Ad content may be loaded in advance when ad requests are permitted, but showing a rewarded ad requires your choice. Reward availability depends on connectivity, ad inventory, consent requirements, and technical conditions. Active Pro access, including an active eligible trial, bypasses these Free access limits and suppresses ads.
Firebase Analytics and AdMob data sharing
- Release versions of PDF Studio may use Google Analytics for Firebase to collect app-instance identifiers and automatically generated events or properties relating to app launches, sessions, screen or feature interactions, device and operating-system characteristics, app version, approximate region based on network information, and advertising events.
- PDF Studio's AdMob app is linked to its Firebase app. This allows supported Google Analytics data to be available in AdMob and AdMob advertising and revenue data to be available in Firebase or Google Analytics for reporting and monetization analysis.
- This information is used to understand general feature usage, evaluate advertising performance, detect technical problems, and improve app behavior. It is not intended to include the content of your PDF files, imported images, OCR text, or PDF passwords.
- For rewarded access, analytics events may record that an offer was shown, an ad was requested, loaded, started, completed or failed, access was granted, a free operation completed, a limit was reached, or a trial or Pro button was selected. Event parameters may include the tool identifier and an access reason or error category. These events do not include document contents, file paths, OCR text, or PDF passwords, and follow the app's applicable analytics consent settings.
- Google processes this information under its own terms and privacy documentation. Retention and deletion of service-side analytics and advertising data are governed by the applicable Google Analytics, Firebase, AdMob, account, and legal settings.
- For more information, see Firebase Privacy and Security and the Google Privacy Policy.
Pro subscription in the current version
- The app offers monthly and yearly auto-renewing Pro plans through Google Play.
- The direct monthly and yearly paid options start immediately, do not include a free trial, and renew at their respective billing intervals until canceled.
- Eligible Google Play accounts may separately choose a 7-day free-trial offer linked to the yearly plan. Trial eligibility is determined by Google Play and the offer may not be shown to every account.
- The trial phase itself is provided at no cost. Google Play may verify the user's payment method and, where applicable, a temporary authorization hold may appear and later be reversed or released.
- If the trial is not canceled before it ends, it automatically continues as the paid yearly plan at the localized price shown on the Google Play purchase screen.
- If the user cancels during the trial, Pro access normally remains active until the 7-day trial ends and the yearly subscription is not charged at the end of the trial.
- Users can decline all Pro options and continue using the ad-supported free version with limited Pro functionality.
- After the active trial or paid entitlement ends, the app returns to the standard non-Pro feature set unless another valid Pro entitlement is present.
- Pro is intended to unlock advanced PDF tools and photo text editing before PDF export.
- The subscription is billed and managed by Google Play or Google Play Billing infrastructure, not directly by the app developer.
- The app may receive product details, purchase state, trial state, purchase token, and related entitlement metadata needed to activate Pro access, restore purchases, prevent abuse, and support billing issues.
- The developer does not receive your full bank card or payment account credentials through the app.
The app's live Google Play Data safety answers should match the shipped code and the active privacy disclosures across versions distributed through Google Play. This page is not a substitute for updating the app's Data safety declaration.
Retention and deletion
- Files created or imported in the app remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
- Language preference and app-local settings remain on your device until cleared by you or removed with the app.
- Analytics and advertising event data handled by Google is retained according to the applicable Google service settings, policies, and legal requirements.
- Support emails or direct support messages may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the issue, maintain records, or comply with legal obligations.
Security
PDF Studio is designed as a document utility, so document confidentiality matters. Users should still protect their devices, backups, and exported files because local storage security also depends on the device and any third-party apps used to open or share those files.
Children
PDF Studio is not designed as a child-directed service. It is a general productivity tool and is not specifically targeted at children under 16.
Your rights and questions
If you have a privacy question about the app, contact docu.slate.support@gmail.com. Please include enough detail to identify the issue, such as your app version, device model, and a short description of the affected feature.
Advertising and analytics consent choices
Starting with PDF Studio 1.56, users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown Google's consent message when required. You can accept, decline, or manage the purposes shown in that message. Google’s User Messaging Platform communicates the applicable choices to Google advertising services and, through Consent Mode, to Google Analytics for Firebase for advertising storage, advertising personalization, advertising user data, and analytics storage.
To review or change your choice, open the app's settings menu and select Ad privacy choices (Конфіденційність реклами in Ukrainian). This option is shown when Google's consent platform requires a privacy-options entry point. Reopen the consent form, adjust your choices, and confirm them. Changes apply to future processing according to the relevant service; they do not automatically delete previously collected data. For questions about deletion, contact the privacy address above.
Declining consent does not activate Pro or guarantee that all advertising stops. Depending on your choices and applicable rules, limited ads may remain available. Active Pro access suppresses ads in PDF Studio. Consent Mode does not itself mean that every network request stops: in advanced mode, Google may receive limited, cookieless measurement signals when consent is denied. Document contents are not included in these signals.
This privacy policy applies to all PDF Studio users. The European consent message is region-specific; privacy choices and requirements elsewhere may differ. Older app versions may not provide this consent interface. Google Play's Data safety declaration covers the app's data practices across versions distributed through Google Play.
Advertising, analytics, diagnostics, and technical data
PDF Studio uses third-party Google services, including Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) and Firebase services—Analytics, Remote Config, and Installations. Depending on device settings and the user’s consent choices, these services may collect or receive technical data needed to serve and measure advertising, provide analytics and diagnostics, prevent fraud, maintain security and compliance, and operate the app.
The technical data may include approximate location, app interactions, diagnostics, and device or other identifiers. These services may receive this data as third-party service providers.
PDF documents, photos, scans, annotations, OCR text, and other document content remain on the device and are not uploaded to these services by PDF Studio.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated when the app changes, when monetization features are added, when support workflows change, or when legal or platform requirements evolve.
