Privacy Policy
This policy describes the current PDF Studio app behavior, including local document handling, ad-supported free access, and the Google Play Pro subscription with its current 7-day free trial flow. The live app, in-app disclosures, and Google Play Data safety declaration should stay aligned with the shipped version of the app.
Data controller and contact
App name: PDF Studio
Developer / publisher: Vasyl TAR
Privacy and support contact: docu.slate.support@gmail.com
Scope of this policy
This policy covers the PDF Studio Android application, including document creation, PDF import, image-to-PDF, in-app camera capture for photo-to-PDF workflows, page organization, watermarking, splitting, compression, protection, password removal, page numbering, PDF-to-image export, OCR, and related support communication.
Current app behavior
Data the app may handle locally on your device
- PDF files that you import, create, edit, share, or export.
- Images you choose from your gallery or capture with the in-app camera for image-to-PDF workflows.
- OCR source files and extracted text created during on-device text recognition.
- PDF passwords or protection values that you manually enter to lock or unlock your own PDF files.
- Document names, timestamps, selected language, recent file state, ad pacing state, and other app settings stored locally to support app functionality.
- Local entitlement state used to remember whether Pro access is currently active on this device.
Camera permission
- The app requests the Android camera permission only when you actively choose the in-app camera to take a new photo.
- The permission is used to let you capture images for photo-to-PDF and related document scanning flows.
- If you do not grant camera permission, you can still use other supported features such as importing existing images or PDF files.
- Photos captured through the current app workflow are intended to remain on device unless you later export or share them yourself.
How the current version uses data
- To import, create, preview, modify, and save PDF and image files within the app's workspace.
- To open the in-app camera, capture new document photos, and prepare those photos for user-controlled PDF creation.
- To run OCR locally and allow users to save extracted text back into a PDF.
- To organize, compress, split, watermark, protect, unprotect, and convert PDF files based on user actions.
- To remember language preference and app-local recent file information.
- To request ad content, limit ad frequency, and suppress ads for users with active Pro access.
- To check Google Play purchase and trial status, activate or restore Pro access, and support billing-related app behavior.
Current transfer and sharing status
Based on the current app build reviewed for release preparation, PDF Studio is intended to work without transmitting your document files, OCR text, or entered PDF passwords to the developer's own servers.
The app may still communicate with Google Play, Google Mobile Ads, and related Google services to load ads, check subscription status, restore Pro entitlements, support in-app updates, and operate platform features. Those services may receive technical device, app, purchase, network, and event metadata required for those functions.
When you deliberately use Android sharing or open a file in another app, that transfer is initiated by you. The receiving app or service then applies its own privacy practices.
Ads and Pro features in the current version
PDF Studio currently includes ads in the free version and a paid yearly Pro subscription through Google Play with a 7-day free trial at signup. The details below describe the monetization model intended for the active release line of the app.
Advertising in the current version
- The free version may show banner ads in supported screens.
- The free version may show interstitial ads in supported app flows.
- Ads are not intended to be shown while Pro access is active.
- Google or AdMob services may process technical identifiers, app instance information, IP-based network information, consent state, diagnostics, and ad event metadata as required to deliver, measure, limit, or secure ads.
- If legally required in the EEA, UK, Switzerland, or other regulated regions, consent choices may be requested through the app or a Google-provided consent flow before personalized or non-essential ad processing begins.
Pro subscription in the current version
- The app offers a yearly Pro subscription through Google Play and currently starts it with a 7-day free trial.
- No subscription charge is intended to be collected when the 7-day free trial starts.
- If the trial is not canceled in Google Play before it ends, Google Play may automatically charge the subscription price shown at signup and continue the paid yearly Pro plan.
- If the user cancels during the trial, Pro access is intended to remain active until the 7-day trial ends, and no trial charge is intended to be collected.
- After the active trial or paid entitlement ends, the app returns to the standard non-Pro feature set unless another valid Pro entitlement is present.
- Pro is intended to unlock advanced PDF tools and photo text editing before PDF export.
- The subscription is billed and managed by Google Play or Google Play Billing infrastructure, not directly by the app developer.
- The app may receive product details, purchase state, trial state, purchase token, and related entitlement metadata needed to activate Pro access, restore purchases, prevent abuse, and support billing issues.
- The developer does not receive your full bank card or payment account credentials through the app.
The app's live Google Play Data safety answers should match the shipped code and the active privacy disclosures of that version. This page is not a substitute for updating those release-specific declarations.
Retention and deletion
- Files created or imported in the app remain on your device until you delete them, clear app data, or uninstall the app.
- Language preference and app-local settings remain on your device until cleared by you or removed with the app.
- Support emails or direct support messages may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the issue, maintain records, or comply with legal obligations.
Security
PDF Studio is designed as a document utility, so document confidentiality matters. Users should still protect their devices, backups, and exported files because local storage security also depends on the device and any third-party apps used to open or share those files.
Children
PDF Studio is not designed as a child-directed service. It is a general productivity tool and is not specifically targeted at children under 16.
Your rights and questions
If you have a privacy question about the app, contact docu.slate.support@gmail.com. Please include enough detail to identify the issue, such as your app version, device model, and a short description of the affected feature.
Policy updates
This policy may be updated when the app changes, when monetization features are added, when support workflows change, or when legal or platform requirements evolve.
